Job description

Be | Shaping the Future Poland has a proven position of being a reliable partner for financial services organisations to analyse complex requirements, find solutions and implement them in their entirety, regardless of their complexity. Since the foundation of Be Poland in 2013, we have been continually expanding and customising our spectrum of services. Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Kafka clusters across multiple environments (development, testing, production)
  • Set up and configure Kafka brokers, Zookeeper nodes, and other related components
  • Implement security measures such as SSL encryption, authentication, and authorization
  • Install, configure, and maintain Elasticsearch clusters across various environments (development, testing, production)
  • Set up and configure Logstash for data collection, parsing, and enrichment
  • Configure Kibana for visualization, dashboards, and data exploration
  • Deploy and manage Beats for lightweight data shippers for various data sources
  • Develop monitoring solutions for Kafka and Elasticsearch
  • Optimize configurations for efficient performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues
  • Design and implement high availability and fault tolerance strategies
  • Set up replication, failover mechanisms, and disaster recovery plans
  • Monitor resource usage and plan for scalability
  • Develop automation workflows for deployment, configuration, and monitoring
  • Evaluate and implement third-party tools


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience as a Kafka Administrator or similar role, with a strong understanding of Kafka architecture and internals
  • Hands-on experience with installing, configuring, and managing Kafka and Elasticsearch clusters in a production environment
  • Proficiency in Kafka monitoring and performance tuning using tools such as Confluent Control Center, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and performance tuning of Elasticsearch clusters using tools such as Elasticsearch Monitoring, Elastic APM, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
  • Familiarity with security features and best practices for the Elastic Stack and Kafka, including TLS/SSL encryption, SASL, ACLs, role-based access control (RBAC), etc.
  • Experience with log management, data visualization, and analytics using Kibana
  • Experience with Kafka cluster deployment automation using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, etc.) for automation and tool development
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a distributed environment
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, Linux system administration, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
