Salary starting at 3.400 EUR/month

Your role
Join GoHealth as a Senior Frontend Engineer and take charge of developing and running business-critical software systems that streamline the insurance enrollment process. Your work will directly impact our mission to simplify healthcare access and improve the quality of healthcare for our users. You will lead and contribute to feature delivery in our agile environment, collaborate across teams, and continuously enhance our technology stack to better connect consumers with the right insurance products. We operate in an open-source environment and encourage learning new languages and technologies. Our current platform primarily uses Spring Boot (java), NodeJS (typescript) and NextJS (react). You will report to a Lead Engineer.
On average, you will be working 70% on front-end tasks and 30% on back-end tasks, with occasional focus on pure front-end tasks.
You will
- Develop, maintain, and integrate secure enrollment applications for insurance carriers, ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Design and implement high-quality, reliable, and maintainable software following agile best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, efficient software solutions
- Ensure code quality through rigorous code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, promoting a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly
- Continuously improve the codebase for better performance, scalability, and security
- Stay updated with industry trends and adopt the best tools and techniques
- Contribute to the architecture and design of software systems

Qualifications
Must-Haves:
- 5+ years of experience in development and operation of software systems, preferably in insurance, healthcare, or financial sectors
- Proficiency in Node.js, Next.js
- Experience with React, TypeScript, CSS3 (Sass/SCSS)
- Practical knowledge of web-based application development, microservices architecture, and serverless
- Experience with secure coding practices and handling protected information (PHI & PII)
- Experience with test & domain driven development
- Version control systems, preferably Git
- Knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Couchbase, MongoDB)
- Passion for mentoring junior engineers and fostering a collaborative team environment
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and improve existing skills
- Written and spoken communication skills in English; (B2+ category)
Nice-to-Haves:
- Knowledge of Enterprise Integration Patterns for distributed systems (Kafka, MQ, Flink)
- Experience with Terraform, Docker, AWS/ECS Deployments, Jenkins or other CI/CD tools
- Experience with Gauge and Selenium/Selenide for automated testing
- Familiarity with Java
