Job Description
As a PrimusGFS Auditor Independent Contractor, you will play a crucial role in the mission of NSF International – to protect and improve human health. NSF International is known as the most trusted name in Food Safety. NSF International has been helping businesses in the agriculture and processing industries to navigate the food safety and regulatory environment for more than 70 years. Our extensive suite of food safety and quality services span every link from farm to fork including certification, testing, consulting, auditing, and regulatory compliance. We would like to expand our team with the addition of contract Agriculture Auditors throughout North America (USA and Canada).
Responsibilities
- Conduct supply chain food safety inspections/audits.
- Summarize and evaluate inspection/audit findings.
- Communicate findings/results of inspections/audits with client site management or appropriate client representatives.
- Develop effective work plans for the completion of assigned inspections/audits within a determined timeframe.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with key team members including audit delivery and client teams.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Completion of a Lead Auditor Course
- Completion a 2-day HACCP Course with certificate
- Completion a Preventative Course Qualified Individual (PCQI) course
- Relevant bachelor’s degree or diploma in relevant field
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal and ability to effectively develop professional work relationships
- Valid driver’s license
- Tablet PC running Windows 10 and own mobile phone
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Education in an agricultural/crop based, food or bio-science related discipline or, as a minimum, have successfully completed a higher education course or equivalent qualification in one of those disciplines, with a degree, diploma or a certificate from a recognized institution.
- At least two years of experience in quality assurance or food safety functions in food production or manufacturing, retailing, inspection or enforcement, or equivalent as described in the Appendix 4 Scope Education and Work Experience
- Recognized training in audit techniques based on QMS or FSMS, with a duration of one week/40 hours or equivalent.
