About The Role

Come play a key role in building the next generation of the Grindr app! Working within our iOS team, you’ll have the opportunity to solve challenging problems, work with the latest technologies, collaborate with a kind and capable team, and contribute to a one-of-a-kind app at a unique scale. The Grindr team continues to innovate as the largest social media app for the LGBTQ community. This position is located in Medellin, Colombia, and requires working onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays at the Grindr offices at WeWork El Poblado. Open to candidates willing to relocate within Colombia.

What You’ll Do

  • Use Swift, XCode, RxSwift, Bitrise, Fastlane, Jenkins, and Github, you will be evolving and maintaining the software architecture for current and future needs to develop highly innovative, consumer-facing mobile products, while supporting the product roadmap.
  • Design, develope, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance elegant mobile solutions
  • Work collaboratively with a brilliant cross-functional team to make Grindr the best app it can be for its users
  • Work directly with quality engineers to identify test cases and devise efficient, scalable testing processes to allow us to run bi-weekly releases
  • Own projects and deeply understanding the why behind them
  • Mentor other engineers and fostering career growth
  • Collaborate effectively across our engineering teams in North America and Taipe

What You’ll Bring

  • You have a B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • You have at least 12+ years of experience building iOS applications, primarily in Swift
  • You have experience with large iOS codebases and complex, high-performance apps
  • Strong practical knowledge of software engineering best practices and design patterns such as MVVM, Coordinator, one-way data flow, and modular architecture
  • You have experience with iOS app performance optimization & metrics
  • You're a strong problem solver and a fast learner
  • You're compassionate, collaborative, and deeply care for the people around you
  • You're passionate about top-quality code and using the latest best practices
  • You're mission-driven
  • You build software with your users and their needs as your priority
  • You enjoy shipping products, measuring value to users, and iterating
  • Have experience leading a team or initiative
  • Experience working cross-functionally Nice to Have's
  • Professional Experience with RxSwift or any functional reactive programming framework.
  • Professional Experience with Coordinators and/or RxFlow
  • Experience with Architecture at scale
