Job description

For our client a company in the software Industry, we are searching for an experienced Database Administrator - NoSQL with good skills in Cassandra or ScyllaDB who can start asap.

As part of a team of six, you will be responsible for building and maintaining high-performance NoSQL database systems. Our client is a world-renowned, leading software company that supports customers with regard to the control and support of various end devices.

Location: Southern Germany, Munich or Porto (Portugal) (at least 1x per month for at least 2 - 4 days on site; rest: remote) | negotiable

Scope: full-time

Start: ASAP

Duration: 6 months + option to extend

Language(s): English, German is nice to have

Requirements

  • at least three years of experience in a comparable environment, ideally with Cassandra and/or ScyllaDB
  • very good knowledge of concepts and architectures of NoSQL databases
  • experience in the installation, configuration and optimisation of Cassandra and/or ScyllaDB
  • knowledge of other NoSQL systems such as Redis, MongoDB, MariaDB nice to have
  • very technology-oriented (more hands-on than consulting)
  • willingness to be on call

Tasks

  • Installation, configuration and maintenance of NoSQL databases (e.g. ScyllaDB and Cassandra)
  • Monitoring the performance of the databases
  • Problem identification and resolution
  • Implementation of backup and recovery procedures
  • Collaboration with development teams
  • Daily business, e.g. setting up user accounts, permissions and access controls, optimizing database for high availability and scalability, technical support
