Job description

Our client is a national chartered surveyors, with growing work within the Milton Keynes and nearby areas. They specialise in both residential and commercial surveys, and have a strong sense of satisfaction on their excellent quality and technical knowledge.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Building Surveyor in Milton Keynes or nearby areas to carry out Level 3 and Level 2 home surveys and other related works for a variety of residential clients.

About the role:

  • With a varied housing stock, ranging from the newer builds in the modern Milton Keynes settlement, to period and listed properties in the surrounding areas, this is a great place to be a residential building surveyor.
  • The patch will be tailored to where you live, so this role would be suitable for surveyors in Milton Keynes itself, or areas such as Northampton, Buckingham or Luton.
  • This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a role where they can have more control over their work and what they do. As an independent company, they have the flexibility to shape the job according to what you are looking for. If you want to get involved in growing the business and liaising with clients then they can facilitate that.
  • If an excellent work–life balance is your priority, then the role is ideal – our surveyors often schedule surveys to allow them to do school drop-offs/avoid rush-hour etc.
  • There could even be a possibility of progressing to partnership, for the right person and apart from the site visits the role is home-working, with no timesheets.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be an RICS chartered building surveyor (although they would consider experienced AssocRICS surveyors) and be confident in carrying out residential building surveys. They must have an eye for detail and a thorough understanding of building defects, maintenance and repairs.

You will need to have experience of:

  • RICS residential building surveys.
  • a wide range of structural and building defects.
  • preparing and presenting comprehensive, accurate survey reports.
  • providing clear, concise, justified conclusions.
  • working independently and within a team structure.
  • liaising with clients, both verbally and through written correspondence.
  • A full UK driving licence is required.

Benefits:

  • Salary for this role is between £55–65K.
  • Diverse role with excellent career progression opportunities, including partnership.
  • Supportive network of in-house professionals and admin staff.
  • Health and life insurance.
  • 25+ days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Car allowance.
  • Payment of professional subscriptions and support with CPD.
  • Provision of all engineering and home office equipment.
  • Pension contribution- Enhanced parental leave.
