Job description

Opportunity:

Talented, experienced chartered building surveyors based in Bristol, Gloucestershire, or Wiltshire at Senior or Associate level are invited to join the commercial team in a well-established, independent, and growing company.

About the Role:

The role involves supporting a wide range of commercial survey work, including:

  • Commercial building surveys
  • Landlord and tenant work
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs)
  • Reinstatement cost assessments

The position is home-based, with the area covered tailored to the candidate’s location, approximately around Swindon and Bristol. The role offers the opportunity to join a nationwide, multi-disciplined team, receiving support from commercial, residential, general practice surveyors, and structural engineers. There are options for training in new disciplines, involvement with clients, and opportunities for mentoring. The company’s independent status allows for flexibility in designing a role and benefits package to meet individual needs, including potential for partnership.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be based in Bristol or Wiltshire and have commercial survey experience. They should be chartered with the RICS or CIOB and capable of delivering excellent service to clients.

Key qualities include:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Confidence in independently carrying out commercial survey work to a high standard.
  • A full UK driving licence is required.

Experience should include:

  • A broad range of commercial work, such as dilapidations, schedules of condition, contract administration, acquisition surveys, and technical due diligence.
  • Preparing and presenting technically robust reports.
  • Providing clear, concise, and justified conclusions.
  • Working independently and within a team.
  • Liaising with clients both verbally and in writing.
