We’re searching for budding Field Insurance Advisor Apprentices based in the Leeds area to join our Home, SME and Commercial Claims team.

An apprenticeship with DLG will help you grow your career alongside your learning journey. You will initially work towards your CII qualification (Chartered Institute of Insurance) within your first year of the role, upon successful completion of this you would then progress onto your Level 4 Insurance Professional qualification over your second and third years in the role.

Minimum Requirements:

You’ll need to have already achieved:

  • A*-C (9-4) GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English, which you’ll be able to evidence
  • 3 A-Levels' A*-C in any subject

Holding a degree in any subject at a grade 2:2 or above is desirable for this role however not a requirement.

As you will be required to travel as part of this role, you will need to commit to acquiring a full driving licence within the first year of the role if you do not already have one.

Please note you will be based from your home address however you will be required to attend our Leeds office approximately twice every 3 months for this role. You will also be required to attend an office of our choice during your first few weeks for training.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Field Insurance Advisor you are our direct support to customers by visiting their homes or commercial premises to support their claims. You will work with and report into our experienced Field Claims Advisors who will support your career and apprenticeship in some of the following areas:

  • Carrying out Field led claim visits, completing on site reporting, evidence gathering and digital scoping.
  • Providing additional support when this is required, including vulnerable Customers and other ad-hoc claim investigation.
  • Reviewing digital evidence from an online portal to gather evidence and provide accurate cost scoping.
  • Event/Surge deployment to assist our customers when and where needed, this may involve supporting PR opportunities identified by our Press Office in connection with Surge Events and DLG response where insured properties have been impacted.
  • Re-inspections in support of cost control and customer journey with our Network
  • Delivering the best customer service

We’re looking for attention to detail and an analytical mentality alongside good communication skills, someone who has an interest in insurance and customer service with a desire to help others and a genuine interest in a career in this area.

Training Provided:

By becoming an apprentice at DLG, you’ll be able to combine on-the-job practical skills with theoretical knowledge from off-the-job learning, giving you the best opportunity to develop your career in the insurance industry.

You will be paired with a dedicated DLG mentor who will support your training every step of the way.

You will attend both online and face-to-face learning support sessions, please note there is an End-Point-Assessment for this apprenticeship where you will need to demonstrate your knowledge, skills, and behaviours.

Subject to successful completion of the apprenticeship, there are many opportunities for progression throughout DLG to continue your career with us.
