Your missions

Role Summary

Our client is looking for a Tax Reviewer. This role involves a high level of strategic oversight, requiring a deep understanding of tax law to ensure all possible tax strategies are utilized for their clients. The ideal candidate is someone with experience in managing complex tax scenarios and will be able to provide both leadership and training on new tax laws to their team.

WORK SCHEDULE: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Mountain Daylight Time (11:00 PM – 8:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

Essential Functions

  • Review complex tax returns including those for trusts, self-employed individuals, and small businesses (1120S, 1120, 1065 and 1120) with a high-level strategic perspective
  • Ensure optimal tax strategies are utilized by examining tax returns from a macro perspective
  • Stay updated with new tax laws and effectively apply them to benefit clients
  • Train and guide the team on the latest tax law changes and best practices
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of tax data through meticulous review processes ensuring all data is entered correctly
  • Provide constructive feedback to team members and maintain effective communication channels with clients via email and team via Microsoft Teams
  • Work flexible hours, including some evenings, to coordinate directly with the US-based team for training and team meetings

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in the related field is preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification preferred
  • 5+ years of tax review experience with US tax law and is obsessed with staying up to date and finding new ways to utilize it
  • Experience in managing complex tax scenarios and will be able to provide both leadership and training on new tax laws
  • Ability to do trust returns
  • Able to analyze taxpayers to ensure that all possible tax strategies are being utilized
  • Ability to figure out new lax laws, how to apply them to clients, and be able to train the team
  • Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft 365 applications, and Lacerte tax software
  • Experience in a multi-client environment
  • Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
  • Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
