About the role

As a key member of the IT Expense team, the IT Expense Analyst will be responsible for the management of billing, orders and governance.

The Analyst’s main responsibilities will include performing various expense management tasks including billing and order management as well as proactively enforcing billing and inventory governance. The role will focus on optimizing current procedures and creating a billing governance structure.

Main responsibilities of the IT Expense Analyst:

  • Understand the team’s main activities (expense, order and contract management), and actively participate in the implementation of a billing governance model.

  • Perform automatic/scheduled audits using current systems to optimize IT spending.

  • Carry out tasks related to the management of orders, IT requests and the creation of purchase orders.

  • Participate in the department’s financial activities, such as budget preparation, gap analysis, cost centre structures, pay-per-use rates, chargebacks, accruals and reclassification procedures.

  • Assist in inventory and billing governance activities using existing tools.

  • Act as the main contact for assigned accounts payable, their validation and payment.

  • Monitor forecasted budget and prepare recurring budget variances reports and analysis.

  • Meet with internal teams such as Accounts Payable, Project Management, Finance, Procurement and Asset Management in order to streamline the process and fill the gaps with creative solutions.

  • Support IT projects and RFX initiatives by analyzing financials and other data (such as inventory reports and price grids).

  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures and guidelines for all related processes.

Your skills:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Bachelor or College Degree in Finance/Accounting/IT or Administration.

  • Good knowledge of Procurement tools (e.g.: Oracle e-Business), inventory management tools and/or Telecom expense management tools

  • Accounting / IT Finance base knowledge.

  • Experience with best practices in expense management and billing governance.

  • Experience working in an IT/Telecom environment, an asset.

  • Previous ordering experience, an asset.

  • Cloud chargeback and/or FinOps experience, an asset.

  • Information Structure (BI tools, databases, SQL), an asset.

  • Any automation scripting language knowledge (e.g. VBA), an asset.

  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
