We’re determined to make a difference and are proud to be an insurance company that goes well beyond coverages and policies. Working here means having every opportunity to achieve your goals – and to help others accomplish theirs, too. Join our team as we help shape the future.

We’re in the business of helping people achieve amazing things by protecting the things that matter most. And you can help us when you join our team of underwriters. They’re at the center of everything we do – and by joining us, you’ll be on a team known throughout the industry for providing our customers with just the right amount of coverage they need to pursue their unique interests.

Your underwriting career here means collaboration, inclusivity, innovative thinking and so much more.

• This includes actively sustaining and promoting The Hartford Way routines.
• Partner with Sponsors and cross-functional partners to resolve premium discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Drive improvement (through data and technology) in premium administration, financial reporting, metrics and trend analysis that help the business understand the drivers of results.
• Perform ad hoc analysis of results drivers, partnering closely with Claims and Pricing to enhance/unify the results’ story.
• Partner with GB and GRP Actuarial AVPs on presentation of results and explanations.
• Own and project manage the development of GRP Operating Plan, including Outlook.
• Partner closely with Pricing, Finance, Claims and Underwriting on development and documentation of inputs, including assumptions made.
• Own sponsor-specific models and the periodic review of individual cases with special arrangements, including special circumstances outside of the standard reserve modeling.
• Develop and establish a quarterly profitability analysis including setting assumptions, booking reserves, documentation, and discussion of results.
• This includes the exploration of moving to a quarterly frequency on certain reserve items and gaining leadership support for that change.
• As requested, effectively support auditors with data, documentation, and rationale.
