Your missions

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist in facilitating and supervising weekly support group meetings including planning curriculum, providing direction, and leading group discussions. Facilitating outreach including attending community activities such as PRIDE events, school open house or parents’ night, etc. and providing information about Triple Point. Proving information and outreach through Creating Safe Spaces informational seminars both in-person and virtually. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in facilitating and supervising weekly support group meetings including planning curriculum, providing direction, and leading group discussions under direction of supervisor
  • Facilitates outreach including attending community activities such as PRIDE events, school open house or parents’ night
  • Proves information and outreach through Creating Safe Spaces informational seminars both in-person and virtually
  • Maintains client records and ensures confidentiality
  • Performs routine administrative duties
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with appropriate community partners
  • Maintains electronic databases/Akin Technology
  • Participates in employee meetings and employee development
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor

  • Knowledge and understanding of child, adolescent, and family development and of various treatment principles and interventions
  • Must possess strong human relations skills to communicate and work effectively within a culturally diverse work environment and community
  • Proficient in MS Office

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

This job is performed in a professional office environment. The following list is representative of the work environment employees encounter while performing the essential functions of this job:

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, printers, phones)

  • Ability to work in a confined area
  • Ability to sit at a computer for an extended period

WORKING REMOTELY:

Working remotely is a benefit of Akin’s flexible workplace, but remote work cannot be offered for all positions. Some positions require daily presence in the office. Remote work arrangements may be adjusted or rescinded based upon business needs.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard; occasionally to reach, stoop and kneel

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma plus 1-3 years of experience in similar role
  • Experience in direct service to children, youth, and families
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check

SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS:

The salary range for this position is $19.70 - $26.40. The starting salary range for this position is $19.70 - $21.36 DOE for external candidates.

Employees will also receive 10 days of vacation leave each year, three Employee Appreciation Day each year, and will accrue one sick day per month (pro-rated for part-time employees). Employees will also enjoy 15 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.  We also offer EAP and mental health benefits.
