Job description

Position Summary

Cold Iron is seeking a Senior Systems Software Engineer to join our world class team working on our upcoming game. This position is fully remote and open to applicants across the US and Canada.

Your Day to Day

You can expect to be responsible and accountable for the following:

  • Write game, engine, and tools code using C/C++
  • Profile and optimize the game, as well as identify and implement the tools required to do so effectively
  • Provide expertise in low level systems and engine code, especially with platform-specific behavior
  • Collaborate with Art to establish and enforce budgets for characters and environments that will allow the game to meet our target minimum specs
  • Work with Producers to do task breakdowns and estimation
  • Communicate effectively with your peers and colleagues
  • Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of industry experience
  • Work independently and efficiently under deadlines
  • Excellent programming, debugging, and optimization skills
  • Experience with Unreal Engine
  • Experience with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles
  • Experience with profiling tools for both Unreal and consoles (eg. PIX, Razor GPU)

Would Love to See

  • Experience with Rendering (eg. writing shaders in HLSL)
  • Experience with other programming languages (e.g. Go, Python, Javascript)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or related degree
  • Or equivalent industry experience

Salary Range

  • $130,000 - $150,000

  • This position is fully remote and open to applicants across the US and Canada.
