Product Director, Direct Ordering

Checkmate is a leading ordering solutions provider for restaurants. The brand’s scalable technology enables restaurants to drive sales across channels, including custom websites, apps, kiosks, catering, third-party marketplaces, voice AI and more. 

We seek an experienced Product Director to lead and drive the Direct Ordering team's product strategy, roadmap, and execution. This team is responsible for maintaining and evolving our suite of first-party ordering channels, including web, mobile app, and kiosk.

As a key leader within the Product team, you will oversee the development and optimization of these product offerings, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and customer needs. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who excels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This position is 100% remote

Annual Salary $170,000 to $200,000

Essential Job Functions

Product Strategy & Vision: Define and articulate a comprehensive product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with the company’s overall goals and market opportunities.

  1. Leadership & Collaboration: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver best-in-class products.
  2. Customer-Centric Development: Use customer insights, market research, and data-driven analysis to inform product decisions and prioritize features.
  3. Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and other teams to ensure timely and successful product delivery.
  4. Roadmap & Prioritization: Manage the product roadmap, ensuring prioritization of key features and aligning releases with business goals.
  5. Innovation: Identify new opportunities, technologies, and solutions that enhance the product’s value and keep the company ahead of competitors.
  6. Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
  7. Performance Monitoring: Establish KPIs and metrics to track the success of product initiatives, making data-driven adjustments as necessary.

Requirements

Experience: 7+ years of experience in product management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Leadership: Proven track record of leading high-performing product teams, driving product strategy, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of software development and product life cycles, with a solid grasp of UX/UI, data analysis, and agile methodologies.
  • Customer-focused: Passionate about understanding and solving customer problems, with the ability to turn feedback into actionable product improvements.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, and business strategy.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Gsuite, Slack, and Asana.
  • Experience working in ecommerce with special consideration for experience in the restaurant industry.
  • Passion for ecommerce, SaaS, automation, data/analytics, and food.
