The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Principal Toxicology Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact

  • Supporting product development teams with toxicology guidance and material selection through the preparation of biocompatibility evaluations, hazard assessments, and product risk assessments of medical devices and other products globally in our medical surgical, dental, and purification & filtration businesses.
  • Determining appropriate strategies for assessment of complex medical devices or products and design test methods to evaluate the safety of new materials.
  • Communicating toxicity testing and risk assessment results internally and externally through oral presentations, written reports, and publications.
  • Providing technical guidance to other staff groups involved with regulatory and hazard communication issues for assigned divisions.
  • Maintaining a strong operational knowledge of industry technologies, products, customers, and customers’ needs.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher AND seven (7) years of experience in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Chemical, or Biological Sciences in a private, public, government or military environment

OR

  • High School Diploma/GED AND fourteen (14) years of experience in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Chemical, or Biological Sciences in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master’s degree in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Chemical, or Biological Sciences
  • Ph.D. in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Chemical, or Biological Sciences
  • Professional certification, Diplomat of the American Board of Toxicology (DABT) or equivalent
  • Experience with evaluation of health care products according to US and international regulatory standards, such as ISO 10993
  • Experience with QSAR, computational toxicology, chemical read-across, and non-animal methods
  • Experience interacting with the US FDA, EU notified bodies, or other governmental regulatory agencies

  • Remote - United States

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $160,284 - $195,903, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
