The Opportunity

At Root, we’re on a mission to improve the lives of our customers by offering better insurance solutions. We challenge ourselves to think differently in order to reimagine insurance to make it smarter, more equitable, and a better experience for all.

We strive to “unbreak” the archaic insurance industry by using data and technology in innovative new ways. We believe we must be steadfast in our commitment to research, experimentation, and disciplined data-driven decision making in order to build products our customers love. Analytics sits at the center of our vision.

Our Telematics team manages all aspects of the customer experience as it relates to our telematics program, as well as the models that convert raw driving data into pricing factors. If not designed thoughtfully, telematics can frustrate or confuse. This team strives to design an exceptional telematics experience that maximizes telematics adoption and subsequent customer satisfaction. Additionally, this team ensures that our pricing is representative of the most equitable customer attribute: How they drive.

As a Lead Analyst, you’ll be responsible for conducting exploratory research, running AB tests, studying the impacts of new business strategies, analyzing the overall performance of our telematics product, and introducing new metrics and reporting to shape how we measure our business. You’ll work closely with leaders in Product, Data Science, and Engineering to ensure our business decisions and strategies are data driven and achieve optimal outcomes.

Root is a “work where it works best” company. Meaning we will support you working in whatever location that works best for you across the US.
