Job Description:

The Virtual Design Civil 3D Manager will support Dewberry’s enterprise operations to provide leadership related to our use of technology, initially around our Civil 3D suite of products, but with strong connection to BIM processes and GIS software platforms.  The successful candidate will be responsible to assess, build, lead, and manage this effort.  The role will include an overall assessment of our use of technology and the development of tools and training to enable us to be more proactive in serving the needs of our diverse client base. 

 

The role will include planning for the expansion of the operations software support team through hiring and coordinating with a group of advocates and experts across the organization.  This will be a hybrid position (open to Dewberry office locations nationwide).

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership to develop a program for enterprise operations software support at Dewberry for the 1,500+ engineering practitioners using Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D products.
  • Assist Dewberry operations in the use of the Civil 3D suite of products and the overall use of technology across the entire enterprise.
  • Develop and execute in-house training.
  • Develop improvements to implement production procedures, standards and techniques for increased productivity and quality.
  • Ensure that Dewberry is on the cutting edge of new technology and provide methods for the firm to learn and stay on top of the latest trends.
  • Apply analytical techniques and software to solve more intricate and involved engineering issues on projects.
  • Evolve the enterprise operations software support group to a center of excellence and resource for the firm to support operations and identify opportunities for innovative services pertaining to Virtual Design and Construction.
Required Skills & Required Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience building and providing support around the Civil 3D platform for an A/E/C firm.
  • High proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and Microsoft office applications – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with other technology design products, including Autodesk Revit, InfraWorks, Navisworks, ReCap, 3D Studio Max, and Esri GIS products (ArcGIS Pro).
  • Believe in and practice teamwork with Virtual Design Group and production teams.
  • Have good verbal, written, and organizational skills with an ability to develop training videos, training documentation, and communicate with other technology advocates.
  • Have commitment to our corporate vision and culture.
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations in performance of responsibilities.
  • Review and manage Dewberry’s CAD standards and work with practice areas to expand/modify the standards as needed.
