Summary Of Role & Key Responsibilities

Are you a seasoned enterprise risk management professional with experience in managing business risks related to climate change? Have you commercial consulting expertise with a deep motivation to make a difference? Are you looking for an opportunity to stay in, or relocate to, North America to work with a B Corp. that's leading the way in helping many of the world's leading organizations arrive at new models of value? If any of these sound like you, we want to hear from you! We are looking for an experienced individual to lead our North American Climate Risk & Resiliency services team. This exciting role will involve leading an extremely bright, friendly and articulate team to boost our already highly successful suite of climate risk products and services. You will enjoy close collaboration with the North American leadership team as well as other leaders and experts in climate risk across other Anthesis regions. Your projects and clients will span across a diverse set of industries, ranging from Fortune 500 companies to boutique brands, and require engagement with clients, their suppliers, and their various stakeholders (employees, investors, associations and NGOs) around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Anthesis North America's Climate Risk & Resiliency services, including:
  • Setting go-to-market strategies, commercial performance, team development and overseeing related product development solutions.
  • Manage a fantastic team of climate risk practitioners, including line management and deployment of team resources across client projects and product development.
  • Collaborate with other regional and global Climate Risk leaders and other Service/ Business Line Leaders as needed to coordinate on and develop solutions.
  • Oversee business development for the Climate Risk & Resiliency service and actively contribute to business development activities and growth of the global business.
  • Provide leadership to clients and colleagues on leading practices, standards, and trends, incorporating this knowledge into consulting projects, proposals and the evolution of new services across physical and transition risk.

Key Requirements & Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • 10+ years' experience in enterprise risk management, ideally in a consultancy or advisory environment and/or related insurance or financial services sector.
  • Degree, ideally at a Master's level or higher, in a risk management, climate or related field.
  • Industry-relevant connections, with a network of potential clients, collaborators and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable technical experience in any or several of the following areas:
    • Corporate enterprise risk management, particularly if this involved natural hazard and/ or climate-related risks.
    • Physical and/ or transition climate change risk assessment.
    • Economic and/ or financial analysis related to the impacts of climate change across physical and transition scenarios.
    • Experience integrating enterprise risk management principles into business strategies, plans and processes.
    • Business Continuity or Business Resilience Planning.
    • Natural catastrophe modelling and advisory with an emphasis on weather- and climate-related risks. Governance and strategy development, strategic goal setting and KPI selection on priority climate-related topics (e.g. Science-based Targets).
    • Sustainability/ ESG reporting using leading frameworks e.g., SEC, CSRD and TCFD.

  • Effective with time management and organization.
  • Able to respond positively to pressure and take a flexible approach to a dynamic, fast moving and changing work environment.
  • Work well with a wide range of people on a global basis.
  • Well presented with a professional manner to act as a brand ambassador which flexes and is appropriate for the specific client environment and circumstances.
