We’re seeking a driven, action-oriented self-starter to join our team as a Senior Product Manager to help build and manage features and experiences which engage customers and keep them coming back to the Spruce mobile application. To date, this includes savings features, notifications, budgeting and credit score visibility.

Leading a collaborative squad of engineering, design, and product colleagues, you will manage the backlog and prioritization of features from ideation, research, and business case to launch and ongoing maintenance. Working with stakeholders, partners, and customers to craft a product that accomplishes goals within timeframes and funding allocated, you will be the engine behind the product. This role will report to the Director of Product for Spruce and will provide exposure to a range of business and functional leaders.

Day to day, you'll..


  • Function as the product manager responsible for engagement-driving features. This includes leading ceremonies, being integral part of the culture of the squad, and balancing the health of the squad.
  • Act as the customer’s voice within the product development process; provide customer insight and prioritize with them in mind.
  • Maintain strong understanding of the industry for consumer financial services applications through desk research and participation in industry conferences, webinars and other sources.
  • Develop epics, features, user stories, and roadmaps the squad’s areas, working with your Technical Lead to understand dependencies and requirements.
  • Maintain and prioritize the squad backlog to balance new feature development, continuous improvement of existing features, and infrastructure updates.
  • Regularly analyze and report on performance of features and experiences managed by the squad.
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders to support end to end delivery including operational leaders, marketing teams, legal and compliance teams, customer service, other squads, and external partners.
  • Continually discover engagement improvement ideas from internal sources, industry best practices, and customer feedback.

What You'll Bring To The Team...


  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years’ experience as a product owner, as a Product Manager or related field, launching digital products
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity to provide solutions
  • Strong understanding of mobile and web technologies and financial services industries
  • Experience building customer-facing features for financial products
  • A diligent attention to detail and strong technical intuition
  • Experience with engagement technical solutions
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with tools for doing data analysis
  • Working knowledge of agile development methodologies
  • Superior communication skills, with an ability to cater written and verbal communications to varied audiences, including executives
  • High level of organization, integrity, and great follow-through on tasks with high autonomy of delivery
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated passion for creatively solving problems for customers

It would be even better if you also had...


  • An MBA or other advanced degree (preferred) or equivalent practical experience
  • Product ownership experience, including collaborating with cross-functional teams, or equivalent consulting experience
  • Fintech and/or mobile application experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, SQL and or Looker

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed.

Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.
