Position Overview
The Director - Compliance reports directly to the VP, Chief Compliance Officer and plays a critical role in ensuring the organization maintains an effective, enterprise-wide compliance program. The Director - Compliance collaborates with various departments to identify and appropriately respond to compliance risks. The role includes overseeing the development and execution of an annual compliance work plan, including a compliance training plan; preparing detailed and executive-level reports on the organization’s compliance status; and directing all aspects of running an efficient team of direct reports. The Director - Compliance recommends strategic initiatives for improving the overall effectiveness of the department. With the VP, Chief Compliance Officer, the Director - Compliance will organize and conduct the institutional compliance committee. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in healthcare compliance with in-depth knowledge of Medicaid regulations and billing compliance, provider contracting, and physician compensation.

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple large/critical complex compliance areas/ teams.
- Contribute to the overall compliance strategy and roadmap, and drive implementation in line with institutional objectives.
- Drive resource planning and process development in line with strategic priorities and support the compliance and institutional leadership teams.
- Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders at multiple levels in the organization to drive results.
- Influence external stakeholders strategically through proactive engagement.
- Look at the pipeline of talent within compliance as an organizational pool, investing in future skills, spending time giving feedback, coaching, and challenging high-potential members with different assignments.
- Accountable for budget management for own area.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned in order to meet the goals of the department and institution.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
- Bachelor's degree in related technical field.
- Mater's degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum Requirement: 10+ years of experience within compliance including experience managing mid-large teams with focus on both achievement of objectives as well as critical skill-building.
- 5+ years of experience within compliance in a comparable setting preferred.
- Experience having led large-scale programs/processes through to implementation.
- Experience with operational management, budget planning, and vendor & resource management.
- Prior experience in building external connections with peers, emerging institutional and compliance communities, and vendor networks.
- Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only:
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) required within two years of hire into the position.

- Shows ability to interpret changes in relevant standards and regulations, previous compliance history, and related implications on different systems/ processes within domain.
- Provides inputs and guidance to team leadership focused on driving compliance, based on external regulatory landscape.
- Identifies and proposes/implements systemic solutions to address/ preempt critical compliance needs/ issues.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $125,840 - $238,160 per year for the role of Director - Compliance.
