Description

The Global Risk Solutions (GRS) Risk Analyst is responsible for supporting GRS’s capability for risk-based oversight of GRS insurance risks globally.

The role requires hands-on technical capabilities to model non-property insurance risks across GRS’s broad suite of re/insurance products using internal and external models, and will partner with key stakeholders across Risk, Underwriting, Actuarial, and other functions to ensure the reasonableness of model inputs and results Proficiency using tools such as SQL, Python, Excel, Power Query, and Power BI preferrable.

The role also requires skills in data querying/mapping/aggregation as well as visualization, in support of exposure management and risk reporting across the entire GRS insurance risk portfolio.

This is a remote position, you will be required to go into the office twice a month if you reside within 50 miles of one of the following offices: Bala Cynwyd, PA; Boston, MA; Hoffman Estates, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Lake Oswego, OR; Las Vegas, NV; Plano, TX; Suwanee, GA; Syracuse, NY; Tampa, FL; or Weatogue, CT. Responsibilities Include

  • Provide and receive data in support of quarterly risk reporting.
  • Support processes that enable a consistent view of exposure, which include pre-modeling (gathering exposure data), internal/ external model data input, and post-modeling reporting.
  • Assess and validate the accuracy, relevance, and completeness of model inputs, and understand any limitations thereto.
  • Contribute to regular reporting to governance bodies (e.g., the GRS ERM Committee, Product Boards) and for regulatory filings, as required.
  • Support stress and scenario testing and other risk analyses, and provide key risk insights to key stakeholders
  • Contribute to the enhancement of Views of Risk for all major non-property risk sources.
  • Support development of comprehensive understanding of GRS data to support initiatives across GRS Risk, and drive improvements to data through collaboration with Data Office.
  • Promote a strong risk aware culture that will drive performance outcomes and support delivery of GRS’ strategic objectives

Qualifications

  • Competencies typically acquired through a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field
  • A Master's degree is preferred
  • 4 to 6 years of relevant experience is required
  • Additionally, strong quantitative analysis and modeling skills, experience in an analytical capacity ie.financial analysis, product management, actuarial, underwriting,are required
  • Strong understanding of the risk characteristics of insurance industry preferred
  • Strong understanding of basic financial concepts and metrics, including financial statement analysis preferred
