What To Expect

The Professional Services Engineer is a customer-facing role sitting within our Expert Services team who are collectively responsible for onboarding new customers -- and delivering ongoing value to existing customers -- via the delivery of implementation consultancy, platform training, and delivery of technical documentation and development of solutions and proof-of-concepts.

You'll also act as a technical point of contact to customers and be expected to assist in answering technical questions, troubleshooting issues and assisting with escalations.

Key Responsibilities

East Coast candidates are preferred.

  • Building of solutions including proof-of-concept applications, code samples, and automation scripts
  • Oversight of schema development, migrations, etc.
  • Running technical user training workshops
  • Proactively identifying areas where high-value customers could improve ROI via technical improvements
  • Gather business requirements, document proposed solutions
  • Delivery & support effort estimation
  • Travel regionally and nationally up to 10% of the time to meet with customers/prospects, attend trade shows, attend work related events, etc. Some international travel may be required.

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • Minimum of 5 years in a technical development role.
  • Frontend web development expertise, including mastery of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Good customer-facing skills, including opportunity support, presentation development & delivery.
  • Understanding of the key technical architecture principles around the commerce domain (MACH, Composable, PWAs, SPAs, SSGs, Client-Side vs Server Side).
  • Previous experience working with any of the following: GraphQL, Webhooks, Handlebars, JSON and/or a CMS platform is a plus.
  • Previous experience with API-driven applications and troubleshooting API calls with Postman.
  • General understanding of frontend frameworks such as React/Next, Svelte/Kit
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills (include verbal, non-verbal and written) with proven ability to build and maintain positive, trusting, relationships.
  • Highly collaborative, "we're here to win" outlook, willingness to perform and get things done, strong interpersonal skills, ability to convey and relate ideas to others.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000- $130,000/annually + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
