About The Opportunity
Learning experience designers (LXDs) lead the development of high quality, innovative, and
effective training programs that equip learners with resources and activities necessary to
successfully meet learning objectives. LXDs work independently, and with the support of
instructional designers (IDs), to collaborate with stakeholders, determine learner needs, and
recommend appropriate learning strategies, while leveraging knowledge of instructional design,
higher ed, and Ellucian learning technologies.
Where you will make an impact
- Lead the vision and guide the direction of Ellucian product training programs and
curricula
- Create a training vision for stakeholders and transform that vision into engaging
instructional strategies and assets, ensuring alignment with the overall training program
vision
- Recommend appropriate modes of training delivery, including but not limited to,
elearning, instructor-led, and blended training
- Apply instructional design theories and best practices to training the development and
maintenance of training programs, while also guiding IDs to achieve consistent, excellent
results
- Lead the design of engaging learning activities and compelling course content that
enhances retention and knowledge transfer
- Project manage, plan, and organize product training programs and curricula
- Create timelines, monitor milestones and deliverables, and address risks and roadblocks
- Work closely with IDs to provide direction, feedback, and quality assurance as they carry
out the development of training deliverables
- Adhere to documented instructional design standards and processes to ensure quality
and consistency,
- Assess existing learning resources and program curricula to ensure quality and accuracy
of training content and to identify gaps in the curriculum
- Determine criteria to assess learner performance
What You Will Bring
- Interpret and apply current and emerging adult learning theories and project
management strategies to the management of training programs and curricula
- Comfortably lead training programs in a deadline-oriented work environment, while
managing and executing complex projects simultaneously, with a high degree of quality
- Collaborate expertly while working on cross-departmental teams
- Lead the development of training that deals with technical content and subject matter
while enabling others to understand it
- Lead the design and development training in a variety of modalities, such as on-demand
(elearning), instructor-led, and blended experiences
- Work successfully on a global team across a variety of geographic locations and cultures
- Summarize technical information (verbally and in writing) for a non-technical audience
- Work proficiently and lead the development of IDs on content authoring tools such as
Articulate 360 suite, Adobe Captivate, video editing tools, text-to-speech technologies,
etc.
- Demonstrate high proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and
organizational skills
- Demonstrate strong leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
