Job description

Acre is excited to be collaborating with a leading management services provider dedicated to overseeing a diverse portfolio of infrastructure assets.

This organisation is committed to delivering sustainable and responsible management across a variety of sectors, including Public Private Partnership projects (schools, hospitals, roads, rail) and non-PPP projects (renewable energy and utilities).

With a strong belief in sustainability as a key driver for long-term value creation, they have been enhancing their commitment to making an impact and are positioning it as a main priority across all assets. To help accelerate this mission, Acre is supporting with the hire of an ESG Manager.

In this newly created role, you will support a wide range of infrastructure projects and work closely with the investor relations team to fulfil ESG reporting requirements across the varied portfolio.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • ESG Monitoring and Data Analysis: Manage the annual ESG monitoring questionnaire for the portfolio, collaborating with partners to ensure effective survey delivery. You will then analyse these survey results to develop specific KPIs and action plans that drive ESG performance improvements.
  • Reporting and Communications: Compile data to produce the ESG Highlights Report and TCFD Report, including the development of case studies across the portfolio. Assist in producing internal and external communications to highlight ESG activities and ensure alignment with best practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Leadership: Support operational teams with ESG-related questionnaires from investors, lenders, and auditors, and lead the ESG Group to implement initiatives across the business, including corporate social responsibility activities.
  • Climate Policy and Performance Improvement: Monitor and advance climate-related objectives, ensuring compliance with the Climate Policy Framework. Collaborate with asset management teams to identify areas for ESG performance improvement, drive decarbonisation initiatives, and stay informed of reporting trends and standards.

To thrive in this role, you will have the following:

  • Expertise in ESG and Sustainability: Demonstrated passion and experience in ESG/sustainability roles, including carbon reporting and application of frameworks such as TCFD, SFDR, UN SDGs, and GRESB.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large data sets, alongside excellent writing skills for crafting internal and external communications.
  • Industry Knowledge and Technical Proficiency: Awareness of the PFI/PPP infrastructure industry, and how sustainability can be applied in this space.
  • Interpersonal and Project Management Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills with experience engaging a range of stakeholders and bringing people on the journey with you. Excellent project management skills to drive ESG initiatives effectively.

This role offers remote work across the UK. You can choose to work from home, the head office in Edinburgh, or any of their nationwide 'satellite' offices.
