What You'll Do
We are looking for a experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team. You will have a solid background in software development, and experience working in a collaborative environment. You will design, developing, testing, and maintaining our software applications, with a focus on scalability, and reliability. Additionally, you will create automated solutions that support our customers in filing large volumes of indirect tax returns. Your contributions will ensure that our software meets the highest standards of quality and functionality. You will report to Sr. Engineering Manager.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications and automation tools, ensuring best practices in coding and testing are consistently applied.
- Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Perform rigorous unit testing and debugging to identify and resolve software defects, ensuring a robust and reliable application.
- Take a leading role in promoting a "Quality First, Zero Defects" culture, advocating for the Shift Left approach in software development and testing to catch issues early in the process.
- Monitor code in production environments, proactively resolving any issues that arise within specified timelines to minimize downtime.
- Continuously explore and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance the performance, scalability, and capabilities of our software products.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for software designs, technical specifications, and implementation processes.
- Collaborate with managers to effectively prioritize and plan software development tasks, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Adhere to agile methodologies such as Kanban or Scrum throughout the software development and maintenance lifecycle, contributing to an efficient and adaptive workflow.

What You'll Need to be Successful
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field, with 4 years of relevant work experience in software development or automation roles.
- Experience in writing unit and integration test cases to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Prior experience working within an Agile team is important for this role.
- Proficient in object-oriented design, with a understanding of common design patterns.
- Experience in communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners for collaboration within the team and with partners.
- Experience providing engineering support to customer support team to resolve any critical customer issues.
- Recent experience from a product-based company.
Technical Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in .Net C# and Python, with experience using the Robot Framework.
- Experience with server-side programming models and REST API standards.
- Proficient in working with relational databases, such as SQL.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms AWS.
- Experience with continuous integration, deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Proficient in using Git for source control.
- Familiarity with web scraping frameworks like Selenium.
- Experience designing and building scalable microservice architectures.
