The Role and Team
As a backend engineer on the Reporting Actions team, you will design and build highly performant, scalable, and robust APIs and related backend components for our user facing applications.
We are looking for motivated software engineers to join our global team. You will solve challenging technical problems, own backend APIs end-to-end within Reporting Actions team that deliver products and features to platform users to take predictive and prescriptive actions based on data. Responsibilities
- Deliver enhancements and new features through the full software development lifecycle.
- Work closely with product managers and other engineers to take requirements and produce technical designs and plans.
- Implement technical designs that satisfy requirements and technical specifications, adhering to code practices of the team.
- Communicate with all stakeholders on various aspects of the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in design and code reviews as either the reviewer or the reviewee, ensuring that the implementation or design satisfies the requirements and taking feedback and making necessary changes.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional experience of delivering and maintaining software products
- 4+ years of experience with building and maintaining APIs
- Demonstrated proficiency in Java 8+
- Demonstrated proficiency in GraphQL query language and schema design
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with identifying performance issues and making the appropriate improvements
- Strong focus on writing correct software with experience in writing tests
- Experience working with a large codebase
- Experience in working with a distributed team
- Bring an ownership mindset with a focus on quality
