What’s the role?

The Product Marketing team at Etsy drives high value actions that enable customer growth and loyalty by developing the story and go-to-market strategy for what we’re building. We partner cross functionally to bring buyer and seller products and features to market and drive engagement with features post launch. 

As the Senior Product Marketing Manager, you will work at the intersection of product development and marketing. You will be leading new product go-to-market strategy, product activation, and maximizing the lifetime value of our buyers and sellers at all stages of the funnel. 

To be successful in this role, the Senior Product Marketing Manager will be a key partner in  helping product teams articulate customer value and plan effective product delivery and launch while also advocating on behalf of marketing to ensure that product road maps support marketing strategies. You’ll operate in a highly cross-functional role, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Brand, Content, Analytics, Research, and Marketing to improve the buyer and seller experience through holistic and targeted marketing design to drive conversion, engagement, and retention.


This is a full-time position reporting to the Sr. Manager, Product Marketing. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy. 

This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Brooklyn Office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Owning the product marketing strategy specific to Etsy’s core markets and market expansion plans.

  • Serving as a specialist on market-specific nuances, partnering with product and marketing teams to advise on opportunity sizing and prioritization across country-specific strategies.

  • Leading competitive analysis in individual markets to inform go-to-market plans 

  • Partnering with product, marketing and brand teams to determine what, where and how, and to whom we market key features and product launches, taking into account user needs and business objectives across Etsy’s core global markets.

  • Narrating the user journey, uncover user insights, and identify key user needs to focus product roadmaps on the largest business opportunities.

  • Serving as a key collaborator between the Product and Marketing organizations.

  • Defining the target audience, craft clear positioning statements and clearly articulate and communicate Etsy’s unique value proposition for buyers and sellers.

  • Developing and aligning on-site and off-site marketing plans in collaboration with channel owners and the broader marketing team.

  • Setting clear, measurable product marketing goals and track progress against them making continuous recommendations for how we can improve impact.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:

  • 5+ years of marketing, brand, product marketing, and/or consulting experience, preferably operating in a multi-market or global role. 

  • A strong understanding of market nuances and cultural differences across countries and how to use those differences to develop business strategies. 

  • A strong command of data and ability to use data to inform strategies and tell a strong narrative.

  • Experience collaborating with and influencing cross-functional teams while maintaining great relationships 

  • Strong command of customer experience, data, growth marketing, and product

  • Experience simplifying concepts through impactful marketing messaging

  • Track record of driving strong growth and results through marketing strategies and campaigns
