We are looking for a capable database administrator who is a self-starter, efficient, knowledgeable and experienced in databases, columnar stores and cloud services or has the relevant experience and desire to move in that direction to help our business succeed.
Responsibilities:
• Be part of a growing Data Analytics team
• Deploy and administer AWS Redshift, columnar data lake, and SQL query engine
• Handle provisioning, operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the database and data lake infrastructure
• Provide consistent DB maintenance, optimisation, and best practices to existing Redshift clusters, data lake, SQL engine, and reporting apps
• Provide Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution with RPO/RTO objectives and SLAs
• Work with the latest AWS cloud technologies;
Requirements:
• 1+ year experience using AWS Redshift or another analytic column store (or equivalent knowledge
• 3+ years experience with PostgreSQL
• Some experience with data modelling and optimisation, ETL processes
• Experience with other DB engines (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc) a definite advantage
• Familiarity and desire to work with the latest AWS cloud-based tools and services
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English
• Enthusiastic, hard-working, and motivated team player with excellent communication skills;
Considered as an advantage:
• Experience with data analytics, business intelligence, data pipelines, warehousing & reporting, etc
• Experience with technologies like S3, Glue, QuickSight, Terraform, etc
• Previous experience in the payment industry;
