Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, excellent analytical skills, and a keen interest in acquisitions and private equity investments. As an M&A Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting thorough due diligence, financial modeling, and market research to support investment decisions. You will work closely with senior team members to identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities, monitor portfolio companies, and assist in the execution of investment strategies. This role requires a deep understanding of financial statements, valuation techniques, and industry trends. The successful candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Job Duties:

  • Financial Modeling. Develop, maintain, and update financial models to support the evaluation of potential investment opportunities. Perform sensitivity analysis, scenario modeling, and valuation assessments for both prospective and existing portfolio companies.
  • Analytical and Research Skills. Perform market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends and assess the attractiveness of sectors or companies. Analyze historical financial statements, identify key performance drivers, and evaluate potential growth and profitability.
  • Evaluating Potential Investments. Conduct thorough assessments of new investment opportunities, including financial and market analysis. Analyze business models, revenue streams, industry trends, and competitive landscapes.
  • Financial Analysis and Due Diligence. Conduct detailed financial analysis, including reviewing historical financials, budgets, and forecasts. Perform comprehensive due diligence on potential investments, including legal, operational, and financial reviews, and coordinate with third-party advisors as needed.
  • Deal Support. Assist with all aspects of the deal process, including term sheet negotiation, deal structuring, and execution. Work closely with senior investment professionals and legal teams to ensure smooth deal execution.
  • Investment Committee Memorandums. Write detailed and insightful investment committee memorandums to present findings, risks, opportunities, and recommendations on potential investments. Assist in creating presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Market Monitoring. Monitor capital markets, industry trends, and macroeconomic factors to provide insights and inform investment decisions. Stay up-to-date on sector-specific news and developments to identify potential investment opportunities or risks.
  • Portfolio Management and Performance Monitoring. Support the ongoing monitoring of portfolio company performance, including tracking financial and operational metrics. Assist in preparing portfolio reviews, performance reports, and other related analyses for senior management and investors.
  • Administrative and Support Tasks. Provide administrative support for the investment team, including managing data rooms, coordinating due diligence processes, and maintaining deal pipeline trackers. Assist in organizing meetings, maintaining schedules, and supporting internal communications.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. A CFA or MBA is a plus.
  • 1-3 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, management consulting, or related financial services.
  • Strong financial modeling and valuation skills with proficiency in Excel and financial analysis software.
  • Excellent understanding of financial statements and valuation techniques.
  • Experience conducting market research, due diligence, and working with financial data.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear, concise investment memos.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
