What you’ll be working on:

Supports Savers visions by managing the tax planning, reporting, and compliance function. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for tax matters, such as planning, corporate restructuring projects, mergers and acquisitions related to transaction analysis, due diligence and post merger integration
  • Develop key corporate tax strategies to minimize world wide tax burden.
  • Monitor company's transfer pricing policies and related documentation
  • Monitor legislative changes in foreign tax laws that may impact company's tax positions, including tax accounting implications
  • Supervises and manages the Tax team in the execution and delivery of services by hiring, training, coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Collaborates with the Controller and other managers to identify and analyze tax-related business opportunities and tax strategies that reduce the Company’s tax expense or improve cash flow.  Researches tax issues and prepares appropriate documentation.
  • Prepares and/or reviews all federal, state, and foreign tax returns and related working papers for the United States, Canada and Australia.
  • Prepares and reconciles the annual financial statement tax provision and balance sheet accounts.  Prepares and provides information for the annual external financial audit.  
  • Responds and manages tax authority inquiries and audits.  Provides information for settlement negotiations.
  • Monitors tax legislation relevant to Savers and informs those groups that might be affected by any legislative change.
  • Responds to questions or requests for information from team members and external contacts. 
  • Participates on and leads department or companywide projects to support the Company’s goals and objectives.

  • Working knowledge of federal, multi-state and international tax law and reporting requirements
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of tax procedures and processes
  • Working knowledge of financial databases and systems

Minimum Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in tax reporting, including federal, multi-state, and international tax planning and compliance
  • 3+ years’ experience managing team members
  • License as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent
  • Preferred: Big 4 Accounting Firm experience
