Additional Information:  Remote Position - Travel required to clients in Nova Scotia

 

Lifemark has an opening for a CMGR-Case Manager with a Kinesiology background to cover the Region of Nova Scotia.  As a Disability Case Manager, you will be responsible for managing a case load of disability claims for a large unionized organization. You will also be working with employers, union representatives and physicians to obtain and review medical. This will assist with potential next steps required to assist with facilitating treatment as required and return to work solutions. The Case Manager develops relationships with involved parties and provides expert advice to customers on a daily basis. Position is based out of your home office and travel is required for face-to-face case management with your files.

What you do:

  • Case manage disability claims 
  • Plan and implement sound case management strategies with a focus on treatment and recovery and a goal to potential return to work
  • Review accommodation requests and implement return to work plans
  • Review accommodation requests for stay at work efforts
  • Responsible for communication claim decisions both verbally and in written correspondence to all stakeholders involved 


Who you are:

  • Minimum of 1 years disability claims experience - New Kinesiologist grads encouraged to apply
  • Experience with non-occupational disability claims
  • NIDMAR or other related professional designations would be an asset
  • Excellent documentation and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with clients 
  • Must be detail oriented and organized with and an analytical thinker
  • Demonstrated excellence in the decision-making process especially when under pressure
  • Reliable transport required
