The Associate Director, Image Management Solutions will work to establish and oversee a best-in-class imaging solution that serves as the foundation for our clinical research and product development. They will set goals and vision, direct and manage resources, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement innovative solutions for ingesting, managing and processing imaging and associated clinical data. This role will also perform duties as business systems owner for imaging solution components, and image management services.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and implement image management strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives, ensuring the efficient handling of medical imaging data and associated clinical data.
  • Oversee the ingestion, integration, processing, storage, and retrieval of medical imaging data and clinical data, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Gather / refine requirements from stakeholders across the company, and from with external partners where appropriate.
  • Establish imaging systems, validated computer systems, and associated SOP’s, by working with a technical delivery team and by working across pharma and MedTech areas of the business to produce a data center of excellence
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of imaging systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Provide expertise and support for clinical and research applications involving medical imaging data
  • Lead effort in transformational change to the new imaging system.
  • Manage external relationships with vendors (suppliers or data managers at external partners).
  • Oversee associated project management, including budgets, quality deliverables and timeline (in future this could include people leadership).
  • Use Lean tools like value stream mapping and standard work to create effective solutions through automation, and for continuous improvement
  • Ensure all data and systems are held in an appropriate state quality and legal compliance, including HIPAA and GDPR, and regulatory aspects

 Education and Experience:

  • Technical degree, in IT or medical technology required
  • Experience (7+ years) in quality-controlled research and development environment (CRO, Pharma, MedTech) required
  • Demonstrable knowledge, configuration and use of medical imaging platforms and associated technologies such as DICOM, HL7/FHIR, RIS/PACS, XNAT/Flywheel, etc.
  • Familiarity with image management best practice in pharma or MedTech, including Good Data Management Principles, computer systems validation
  • Demonstratable knowledge of ICH, GCP, 21 CFR Part 11, ISO13485, HIPAA, GDPR etc
  • Experience in leading / project managing complex projects to completion, including setting up and overseeing operational aspects
  • Experience in overseeing change management on multiple complex projects
  • Experience with databases, data management between parties, archiving (Preferred)
  • Use of Lean tools like problem solving, value stream mapping and standard work to create effective solutions through automation (Preferred)
