Your missions

Purpose:

The Western Psychiatric Hospital Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC) is seeking an individual interested in joining a diverse group of research administrators serving the University of Pittsburgh Department of Psychiatry. As a top funded psychiatry department, our faculty are engaged in groundbreaking mental health research. The OGC is a dynamic and collaborative group that manages the fiscal operations of the department and works with university faculty members in all aspects of research grant administration. The Grants Assistant will contribute to the mission of the OGC by providing support to OGC team members in the daily operations of the department and will be involved in different components throughout the lifecycle of research grants. Our Grants Assistants also have the opportunity to grow within the team and benefit from the experience and knowledge of a long-standing group of professional research administrators.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently execute a variety job functions across the lifecycle of grants including personnel effort redistributions and research operations support.
  • Collaborate with multiple OGC team members to facilitate daily operations and support the needs of research groups.
  • Participate in process improvement and implementation of new methods.
  • Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelors Degree (preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field)

OR

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors degree program (preferably in Accounting, Finance, or related field)

OR

  • Associates degree (preferably in Accounting, Finance or related field) and two years of experience working in customer service, finance, accounting, or budget management? Experience working collaboratively in teams and eagerness to grow within the department desired

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34 with renewal
