Test Engineer

Index Analytics is seeking a Test Engineer to support Government clients in the Baltimore and Washington D.C. Metro Area. The Test Engineer will support the testing of a cloud-based enterprise Salesforce environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work in a Lean-Agile environment as a cross-functional team member, developing and executing automated and manual tests in Salesforce.
  • Implement and maintain automated tests for critical user and data paths, ensuring comprehensive test coverage, functional testing, end-to-end testing, and performance/load testing.
  • Participate in the analysis, design, and maintenance of test cases, test approaches, and test plans.
  • Conduct manual functional testing, regression testing, system integration testing, and defect testing using both ad-hoc and published procedures, reporting issues found during the test life cycle.
  • Engineer, author, tune, and document automation scripts, and deploy to test and production environments.
  • Develop and apply consistent, reusable, and reliable automated testing methods, promoting code reuse and cross-program collaboration.
  • Participate in all aspects of the solution delivery life cycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, production deployment, and support.
  • Organize, proctor, and report on User Acceptance Testing sessions.
  • Deliver stable, tested code/configuration to production during release windows each month, coordinating with the development team to ensure all bug fixes are checked in and environments are stable and ready for use.
  • Maintain open customer communication and ensure that releases are properly tested, documented, and validated.
  • Assist in writing clear and concise acceptance criteria for user stories, ensuring they are testable and aligned with business requirements.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • US citizen, or lived in the US for 3 of the last 5 years and able to qualify for a Public Trust clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or relevant discipline required
  • 4+ years of relevant experience developing and maintaining test plans, test scripts and test methodologies to ensure compliance with system specifications
  • At least 1 year of experience creating and deploying automated tests in Snowflake
  • Experience using technologies such as Jenkins, Salesforce metadata API, Python, or Provar (or similar selenium-based tool) in the testing process
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience maintaining test results and regularly reporting on test effectiveness including test performance and bug reporting
  • Must be a proficient scripter
  • Must possess strong knowledge and understanding of systems engineering principles, including system design and architecture, software interface definition and control, software integration, and test
  • Experience writing automated tests for CI/CD pipeline deployment a plus
  • Prior experience with Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services is a plus
