Title of Position: Senior Accounting Specialist
Position Type: Full-Time. Typical hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM, with some flexibility on Thursdays and Fridays.
Compensation Range: $28.00/hr. - $36.50/hr. *Hiring rates may be dependent on a number of factors, including years of directly related work experience, education, geographic location or special skills*
Location: Position is on-site at our Corporate Headquarters in Endwell, NY. ***Not a hybrid or remote opportunity.***
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Responsible for overseeing various accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial procedures, and supporting the preparation of financial statements.
- Independently perform monthly review or reconciliation of various balance sheets and income statement general ledgers for management review.
- Be the credit union’s system expert with third party accounting software to generate general ledger entries for accounting related functions.
- Provide operation support to the accounting team, finance team, Credit Union leadership team, and staff members.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Associates degree in an accounting, finance or business discipline with 1-2 years of relevant experience; 3-5
years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Proficiency in accounting software platform(s) and advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Proficient with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax
machines, PCs, etc.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business related field.
- Experience working in a bank or credit union environment.
