Join a leading staffing agency, PostJobMatches By WorkStaff USA, as we seek a Remote/Hybrid Senior Level Substation Design Engineer for our client in Syracuse, NY. This exclusive engineering company is looking for a Senior Level Electrical Engineer with experience in substation design (or equivalent). The position is within the Power Delivery Substation Department at their Syracuse office, with a preference for in-office or hybrid work, although remote options may be considered based on experience and remote work capability.

Responsibilities

Develop substation layout drawings, including plan and elevations, yard layouts, grounding details, raceway details, control building layouts, cable lists, and material lists for new and existing substations.
Create substation one lines, three lines, Aux AC Power Systems, DC Power Systems, DC Schematics, SCADA and Communications Systems, Relay Panel Layouts, Equipment Wiring, and Cable Schedules for new and existing substations.
Perform engineering calculations and prepare reports.
Prepare equipment specifications for substation equipment, components, and construction.

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
10 years of progressive experience in design and engineering with power distribution and/or high voltage substations.
Experience on various substation projects from 15kV up to 500kV and/or a strong understanding of electrical distribution systems.
Experience with substation design and IEEE/ANSI standards.
Professional Engineering license (PE) strongly preferred, or ability to sit for the exam within 6 months.
Advanced Degree strongly preferred.
EIT or ability to obtain within 6-12 months of hire.
Experience on Renewable (Wind, Solar & Energy Storage) will be considered an asset.
Hands-on experience with AUTOCAD & MicroStation will be considered an asset.
Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills.
Must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.

Salary

The pay range for this position is \(80k - \)120k per year, with base pay potentially higher or lower depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc. EOE, including disability/vets.
