In this role, you will develop and maintain predictive models that enhance underwriting, pricing, claims management, and overall business strategy. The position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility in your working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain advanced predictive models using statistical and machine learning techniques to support decisions in underwriting, pricing, and claims management.
  • Conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Validate and document predictive models to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of modeling methodologies, assumptions, and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Use data cleansing techniques to address missing or erroneous data.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including actuaries, underwriters, claims professionals, and IT, to translate business needs into actionable analytics solutions.
  • Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Implement processes to monitor model performance and provide suggestions for recalibration or enhancement.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in predictive modeling.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and assist with regulatory documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy in predictive modeling.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts, supporting their professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 4-6 years of experience in predictive modeling, data analysis, or a related field within the insurance industry, with a proven track record in leadership and complex problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in advanced statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SAS) and data manipulation tools (e.g., SQL).
  • Experience with complex predictive modeling techniques (e.g., regression analysis, machine learning algorithms) and innovative methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of property and casualty insurance principles and industry trends.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
