Your missions

Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our risk management team. This role plays a crucial part in preparing underwriting submissions and presentations for insurance policies, assisting with insurance placements, and overseeing claims reporting. You will review insurance clauses in vendor and other contracts while supporting the identification, evaluation, and management of risks to align with our corporate risk management philosophy. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of various insurance types, including property, commercial general liability, and maritime-related coverages.

Responsibilities

  • Engage actively with our HSSQE Management System Policies.
  • Provide support and answer insurance-related queries from Finance, Procurement, Maintenance, Operations, and HR departments.
  • Help coordinate site tours, risk surveys, and loss adjuster inspections.
  • Review insurance policy wording for alignment with operational, lease, and loan agreements.
  • Attend and manage site tours and loss adjuster visits.
  • Collaborate with the VP-HSSQE to develop and implement loss prevention and safety programs for shoreside facilities and vessels.
  • Educate and train employees and contractors on the risk management program and their responsibilities.
  • Prioritize risk management concerns in all relevant activities.
  • Gather and analyze renewal data, preparing underwriting submissions and presentations.
  • Report and manage new and existing claims, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Review and update insurance clauses in vendor and other contracts, supporting risk management efforts.
  • Collaborate with the VP-HSSQE to review incident reports and coordinate claim reporting.
  • Assist with budget reviews and annual budget projects.
  • Support policies and programs related to Health, Safety, and Environmental Management.
  • Work with Legal and Procurement to review insurance-related changes in contracts.
  • Meet with insurance brokers to present and promote our risk profile.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; advanced degree in engineering, science, finance, business, law, or a related field preferred. Extensive experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Bachelor's or graduate degree preferred.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Preferred experience in Maritime Insurance and legal aspects, including Jones Act injury claims and maritime P&I and Hull claims.
  • Four or more years of experience in risk management, insurance practices, and claims.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Valid driver's license required.

Working Conditions

  • Standard work hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with potential for irregular hours based on business needs.
  • Some regional travel may be required for training, seminars, and work-related events.
  • Work environment may include office, field, or remote settings if approved.

Essential Job-Related Physical & Mental Requirements

Worksite Environmental Conditions
