In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping our actuarial pricing strategy and supporting our business partners in optimizing our portfolio. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with underwriting, claims, financial, IT, digital, and marketing teams to drive impactful results.
  • Work with data using tools like R, Python, SQL, Excel, and PowerBI to clean, manipulate, and analyze information.
  • Perform a range of actuarial and financial analyses, including predictive modeling, to assess performance.
  • Partner with business teams to enhance portfolio performance and explore new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to quarterly loss ratio planning and reforecasting, including rate changes, loss trends, and mix shifts.
  • Stay up-to-date with new tools to improve efficiency and refine workflows.
  • Create and automate datasets and reports for in-depth actuarial analysis.
  • Handle rate filings as needed.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or a related field. Currently pursuing ACAS exams or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of actuarial experience, ideally with commercial General Liability (GL) or Auto Liability (AL) lines. Experience in Casualty, Construction, or Environmental lines is a plus.
  • Proficiency in at least one coding language (SQL, R, Python, SAS, VBA, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of insurance concepts and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with a knack for accuracy and problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Experience in predictive modeling and rate filings is a plus.
  • Creative and adaptable mindset.

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.
