Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Plant Controller to join our team in Minong, WI. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to lead a team while making key financial decisions. As the Plant Controller, you will provide essential financial support to both corporate and plant management, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis to drive informed decisions. You will lead a dedicated accounting team and play a pivotal role in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of six accounting professionals, focusing on growth and skill enhancement.
• Prepare and manage plant budgets and forecasts, ensuring financial targets are met.
• Develop effective cost reporting mechanisms and oversee production and inventory expenditures.
• Analyze production, inventory, and labor costs, collaborating with plant leadership to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
• Oversee fixed asset management, including capitalizing, transferring, and retiring assets as needed.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and administer the plant's cycle counting program.
• Assist with month-end closing processes and preparation of financial statements.
• Ensure proper coding of POs and invoices and work with the AP department for timely payments.
• Support new item setup and costing, and present plant financial results to senior leadership monthly.
• Collaborate with the corporate cost accounting team on key performance indicators and other periodic reporting.
• Continuously seek ways to improve accounting productivity and policies.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing setting.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience in an accounting function.
• Advanced skills in Excel and other PC applications.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Experience with SAP ERP is a plus.
• CPA or prior Controller experience is highly preferred.
