Are you passionate about supporting accessibility and inclusion? We have exciting casual employment opportunities available in Accessible Education & Disability Resources (AEDR) across various roles. If you're enthusiastic about making a difference and helping students thrive, we'd love to hear from you!

Available Roles

  • Accessible Education Technician: Create image descriptions, closed captioning, audio descriptions (pre-scripted), and perform accessible document remediation to ensure content is accessible to everyone.
  • Accessible Media Technician: Develop tactile graphics, braille media, interactive graphics, and live audio descriptions. Provide other alternative formats as needed to enhance accessibility.
  • Tech Reviewer: Test information communication technology (ICT) using assistive technology (AT) and prepare detailed technology review reports to ensure compatibility and effectiveness.
  • Assistive Technology Trainer: Assist students in learning and using various learning and assistive technologies, including Desire2Learn (D2L), Google Workspace, and other digital resources.
  • Disability or Accessibility Advocate: Advocate for social justice and disability justice issues. If you have personal experience with disability, this role will allow you to elevate disabled voices and increase opportunities for students, staff, and faculty.
  • ASL Interpreter: Use your American Sign Language (ASL) skills to support Deaf and hard-of-hearing students in both physical and virtual classrooms. Responsibilities include facilitating communication and providing interpreting services for events.
  • TypeWell Transcriber: Provide transcription services to help students who are Deaf or hard of hearing access course content. Duties include transcribing spoken English to written text and facilitating communication.
  • Classroom Tech Aide: Manage and support classroom technology by setting up equipment, connecting remote participants, and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • In-Class Aide: Support classroom activities by taking notes, reading materials, serving as a scribe, describing visual materials, and assisting with lab activities.
  • Note-Taking Aide: Attend classes or meetings to take detailed notes, using technology as needed, or submit recordings for transcription to ensure accurate and timely note delivery.
  • Office Support: Provide essential support to the Accessible Education & Disability Resources team, including front desk coverage and maintaining classroom and lab furniture.

About Casual Employment

These positions are casual and hourly, with no guaranteed interview or employment. Jobs may be located at various campuses and centers, with some remote work options. Schedules and hours vary.
