This role offers the unique opportunity to provide high-quality education to students across the county while working remotely from Huntington, WV. As part of our forward-thinking team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting and enhancing the learning experience for students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging, student-centered online lessons tailored to the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Modify and adapt curriculum content to suit the individual goals of each student, ensuring every learner can succeed.
  • Collaborate with students, families, and staff by conducting regular virtual meetings to discuss progress and strategies for success.
  • Offer personalized support and guidance to families of students with special needs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Stay current with best practices by participating in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in Special Education is preferred, though a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • West Virginia teaching certification in Special Education (required).
  • At least 2 years of experience teaching students with special needs, demonstrating an understanding of diverse learning challenges and how to address them.
  • Strong proficiency with online learning platforms and assistive technologies to support remote instruction.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively balance teaching responsibilities in a virtual setting.
