Description

If you are an experienced medical coding professional with a background in neurology, we invite you to join our remote team as a Coding Specialist II. In this role, you will ensure that medical-professional services are accurately coded to support compliance and optimal reimbursement.

What We're Looking For

  • 3-4 years of medical-professional coding experience.
  • CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification is required.
  • Experience with professional medical coding, particularly in neurology.

What You'll Do

As a Coding Specialist II, you will be responsible for:

  • Accurately abstracting diagnosis, procedure, and patient information.
  • Collaborating with physicians to resolve coding discrepancies and ensuring documentation clarity and completeness.
  • Supporting training and education for physicians and team members on coding guidelines.
  • Leading efforts to maintain billing and coding accuracy and compliance, including mentoring junior coding staff.
  • Recommending process improvements to support optimal reimbursement and streamline operations.
  • Staying up-to-date on coding software, ensuring that all systems are synchronized and compliant.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • 3-4 years of medical coding experience, specifically in a professional setting.
  • 1-2 years of experience leading or mentoring others.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, human anatomy, and payer-specific billing requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective communication abilities with physicians and healthcare professionals.
  • Knowledge of coding compliance, payer policies, and regulatory requirements.
