At McGraw Hill we create best-in-class, next-generation learning platforms that are used by millions of students and educators worldwide from kindergarten through graduate school. Our goal is to accelerate student success through intuitive and effective learning tools and content that maximize a teacher’s time and a student’s learning experience. We do all of this in a supportive, collaborative environment where you can grow your career in a way that fits into your life. The work you do at McGraw Hill will be work that matters. We are collectively designing content that will build the future of education. Play your part and experience a sense of fulfilment that will inspire you to even greater heights.

How can you make an impact?

As part of the Portfolio Marketing team, the Marketing Manager will leverage market research and voice of customer data to drive growth and market success through a focus on the PreK-12 market for Math, Science, and Social Studies with a focus on partnering with our Custom Portfolio and regional sales leadership to drive results in targeted markets.

This marketing leader will be responsible for leading the planning and execution of high-impact marketing initiatives that include market research, customer segmentation, market assessment, competitive positioning, compelling pricing strategy, go-to-market sales enablement, training, and product sampling, and in-market promotional strategies, as well as informing product development across product lines.

This is a remote position and candidates must reside and be authorized to work in the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Bring insightful questions that challenge the status quo as you assist the product team with the development of winning solutions.
  • Synthesize data across multiple sources to make strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate within Marketing, Sales, and Product Development to bring the voice of the customer to everything you do.
  • Define target audience and personas to inform product and feature vision in collaboration with Product Development.
  • Review and translate insightful, comprehensive market research to understand the needs of the market and integrate them into our marketing strategies.
  • Develop value proposition and messaging that speaks to customer needs and the product/feature positioning.
  • Manage creative production for content, promotional, and thought leadership assets, including print and online collateral, product sampling, internal training materials and presentations, customer-facing product and market presentations, and sales enablement materials.
  • Maintain an understanding of the competitive landscape and provide competitive differentiation through sales support and the development of marketing strategies.
  • Uphold core business objectives by understanding and supporting the development of business cases, market value, and product development timelines from strategic planning to product launch.
  • Bring a strong narrative approach to all you do - focus on telling compelling stories about our organization, programs, and products.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or Communications.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Product Marketing and/or Campaign Marketing in the K-12 educational publishing industry.
  • Understanding of the K12 curriculum market and customer profiles for both open territory and state adoptions.
  • Must have experience partnering with product development teams as well as with successful product launches.
  • Led segmentation, positioning, pricing, campaigning, and new product development practices.
  • Confidence and willingness to take risks and make smart decisions based on data.
  • Strong ability to influence at all levels within the organization.
  • Experience working with Sales leadership to identify improvements in Marketing and sales support strategy.
  • Desire to learn, ask questions and challenge conventional thinking.
