Senior QA Engineer

Remote or Hybrid to Wayne, PA; Naperville, IL; Austin, TX

Position Overview: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior QA Engineer to join our dynamic Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both manual and automated testing, with a particular emphasis on automated testing using Selenium. As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and executing test plans, identifying and reporting bugs, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Test Planning and Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for both manual and automated testing. Ensure thorough coverage of functional, regression, integration, and performance testing. 
  • Automation Development: Design, build, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium. Integrate automated tests into the continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline. 
  • Bug Identification and Reporting: Identify, document, and track defects using JIRA. Work closely with development teams to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve issues. 
  • Test Strategy: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine test strategies and ensure alignment with project requirements and goals. 
  • Quality Metrics: Establish and monitor quality metrics, analyze test results, and provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve product quality. 
  • Mentorship and Leadership: Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, providing support and expertise in both manual and automated testing practices. Lead by example and contribute to the development of QA best practices. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and advancements in testing methodologies and tools. Propose and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the QA process. 

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance, with a strong background in both manual and automated testing. 
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in automated testing using Selenium WebDriver, with experience in scripting and maintaining test automation frameworks. Cypress/Jasmine experience a plus. 
  • Manual Testing: Extensive experience in manual testing techniques, including functional, regression, integration, and load/performance testing. 
  • Programming Skills: Knowledge of programming languages such as C# and Java for writing and maintaining test scripts. 
  • Tools and Technologies: Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)  
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail. Ability to analyze complex systems and identify potential issues. 
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Team Player: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and contribute effectively to cross-functional teams. 
  • Experience with Agile: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
