Responsible for driving both top-line and bottom-line growth within all JMCRS Business Units (Mouse, In Vivo, Model Generation, Reproductive Sciences, and Co-hort generation) while ensuring an enhanced experience for our customers and collaborators. The incumbent directly manages the product and Business Unit Manager/s for all JMCRS business units. In addition to P&L and revenue accountability, the incumbent has complete product line accountability. The incumbent also has management responsibility for delivery functions within the business unit. The incumbent has ultimate accountability and oversight for the JMCRS business units. The incumbent establishes strategic direction and is responsible for integrating the business units to optimize the customer experience with JAX.
The salary range is $154,596 - $272,217. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
This role is remote with up to 50% travel as needed
Key Responsibilities (What you contribute):
Analyze, develop proposals and implement changes to improve the experience that customers and collaborators have in their interactions with project management and the business units for the product or service that they obtain.
Work with the product managers/Business Unit Managers to define business strategy and plan. Drive execution of this plan through the Marketing & Sales, Operations & Delivery functions.
Understand the marketplace intimately through interactions with customers. Utilize this understanding to better position The Jackson Laboratory competitively for today and the future. Drive market share gain for current offerings while seeking new opportunities – either for new products/services or new markets that leverage core competencies and build on The Laboratory’s mission.
Lead and Develop Staff (Product managers/Business Unit Managers)
Achieve financial metrics of P&L and revenue growth.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS degree or equivalent experience in a life sciences CRO, Business, Economics or Marketing. MBA preferred.
At least eight years’ experience in biomedical research services and Management.
Management experience in a science and manufacturing environment for at least 50 employees, full operational and capital budget responsibility and production output generating at least $10 MM in revenue
Strong financial background and experience with budgeting is required.
Advanced interpersonal skills sufficient for developing complex, dynamic relationship with a diverse variety of individuals representing a broad cross section of cultures, disciplines and levels of sophistications.
Demonstrated experience in formulating and successfully implementing programs/decisions, under tight timelines and pressure, which carry significant financial and business consequences.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Experience in mouse-based research market preferred
Advanced analytical skills and market knowledge sufficient to allow incumbent to synthesize new products and services from existing resources applied in novel ways.
Demonstrated outstanding leadership in developing and meeting strategic goals
