Job Overview

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Sys Ops II Technician to join the Cloud Services Team, which will ensure seamless delivery and security of cloud services for clients by configuring, maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Liaise with Development, Support, and Implementation to provide the best possible experience to our clients.
  • Create documentation for policies and procedures used in the department for software installations, server configurations, or troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with other Cloud Services groups to resolve issues or help with configuration changes/testing.
  • Work in SQL performing activities like database backups, restores, and running scripts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate manager or the management team.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office.

Your experience should include some or all of the following:

  • 2+ years of technical support experience in a Windows domain environment, including troubleshooting simple to complex software/hardware issues.
  • This role operates across Wed, Thurs, Fri, and Sat, shifts starting 5 pm – 3:30 am CST (4x10).
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and desktop operating systems.
  • Wo rking knowledge of scripting for administrative tasks (VB Script, PowerShell, or Command Line batch files), additional Microsoft products, including SQL Server Management Studio
  • W orking knowledge of TCP/IP and network troubleshootingH
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills
  • E xcellent written communication skills
  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent experience

  • Working knowledge of querying with T-SQL a plus
  • Hardware troubleshooting experience
