Your missions

Description

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Special Education Case Manager to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities. This role is essential in ensuring that each student receives the support they need to thrive academically and socially. You will play a key role in fostering collaboration among educators, service providers, and families to create a nurturing and effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • IEP Development and Monitoring: Create, implement, and oversee IEPs tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Record Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, services provided, and communications with stakeholders.
  • Collaboration:
    • Team Liaison: Serve as the primary liaison between general education teachers, special education staff, service providers, and parents, ensuring clear communication and collaborative decision-making.
    • IEP Meetings: Facilitate and actively participate in IEP meetings, ensuring all team members are well-informed and engaged in the process.
    • Parental Communication: Regularly update parents on their child's progress and any changes in services or support.
  • Student Support:
    • Guidance and Advocacy: Provide ongoing support to students and their families throughout the special education process.
    • Progress Monitoring: Continuously assess student progress toward IEP goals, adjusting interventions and supports as needed.
    • Holistic Support: Address academic, social-emotional, and behavioral concerns in collaboration with school staff and service providers.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Timely Documentation: Ensure the timely completion of all IEP-related documentation, including assessments, reports, and progress notes.
    • Legal Compliance: Stay informed about updates to special education laws and regulations, ensuring that practices remain compliant and up-to-date.
    • Process Management: Oversee all aspects of the IEP process, from initial evaluations to annual reviews and re-evaluations.
  • Professional Development:
    • Ongoing Learning: Engage in continuous professional development and training related to special education, virtual learning, and case management.
    • Best Practices: Stay current with the latest best practices in special education and virtual instruction, ensuring high-quality support for students.
Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred). A valid Special Education Teaching Credential is required.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in special education, including at least 1 year in a case management role. Experience in a virtual learning environment is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations, particularly in California.
