Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Adjunct Instructor. In this role, you will contribute to a learning environment centered on social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion while leveraging your expertise in Human Resources to deliver customized instruction that meets the diverse needs of our students.

Engagement with students will be essential, as you provide thoughtful feedback to help them achieve program outcomes. You will also mentor students, guiding them towards success and preparing them for workforce readiness.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Champion the organization's mission by delivering equity-centered, competency-based education.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback supporting students in achieving mastery.
  • Monitor student progress and offer proactive support.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge in Human Resources to enhance student learning.
  • Utilize innovative teaching methods to foster student success.
  • Communicate professionally with students, responding promptly to their needs.
  • Use technology-based platforms to help students develop relevant skills.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to create a positive learning environment.
  • Assess and validate student work, ensuring demonstration of required knowledge and skills.
  • Encourage peer interaction and engagement with learning resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of student engagement and support.
  • Offer virtual office hours and additional learning sessions to assist students.
  • Communicate through the institution's designated systems.
  • Adhere to institutional policies, completing mandatory training as required.
  • Perform other related duties to support student success and organizational goals.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Experience mentoring, training, or teaching adult learners.
  • Expertise in Human Resources, particularly in Learning and Development.
  • Ability to tailor teaching approaches to meet diverse student needs.
  • Strong understanding of competency-based education models.
  • Proficiency with technology, including Google Suite and virtual teaching platforms.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a friendly and persuasive style.
  • Customer service mindset dedicated to student success.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data for informed decision-making.
  • Sensitivity and respect for students from diverse backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • 3-5 years of industry-relevant experience in Human Resources.
  • Proven ability to work with diverse populations and meet unique needs of adult learners.
  • Flexibility to work a student-friendly schedule, including evenings or weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current, industry-aligned certifications.
  • Interdisciplinary background with the ability to teach across multiple aligned programs.
  • Experience applying social and emotional learning strategies with adult learners.

Working Conditions

This position is fully remote, allowing for access to administrative offices as necessary. Candidates should be comfortable working with online technologies and have reliable internet and communication tools. This role involves extended periods of sitting and working on a computer. Physical demands may include lifting or moving objects up to 25 pounds. Consistent attendance is critical for effective instruction and support.
