In this role, you will drive exciting projects and lead a diverse team dedicated to advancing AI and data-enabled solutions in the space enterprise.

About The Role

As the leader of DSAID, you will guide a team of talented engineers, data scientists, and programmers. Your responsibilities will include:

• Guiding technical teams in data science, machine learning engineering, and AI research.
• Recruiting, developing, and managing staff in alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
• Collaborating with customer-facing teams to address mission needs, resolve technical issues, and deliver impactful results.
• Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to align with customer needs.
• Managing staffing needs including performance evaluations, career development, and team compliance with security and corporate policies.
• Communicating progress, achievements, and recommendations to leadership and team members.
• Participating in technical exchanges and fostering team-building activities.
  
  

What We're Looking For

To excel in this role, you should have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in engineering or scientific roles.
• Proven ability to manage teams and deliver insights from complex, large, or unstructured data.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and team members.
• Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, or C/C++, and familiarity with machine learning libraries in Python.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Demonstrated cross-disciplinary leadership and experience guiding teams in software and machine learning best practices.
• Contributions to open source software or publications in machine learning conferences/journals.
• Experience deploying ML models on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
